The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra is a community group of adult amateur musicians dedicated to performing good music at concerts in and around Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. The orchestra is also committed to creating a relaxed atmosphere in which its members can experience the fun and excitement of learning this music: there are no auditions and no permanent part assignments. Orchestra members pay a small participation fee to defray costs. Concerts by the full orchestra and the CSO Chamber Players are brought to schools, community centers, and elderly housing in and around Cambridge for audiences who might not otherwise hear live orchestral music.
