Jean Robens Georges

Jean Robens Georges ("Georges") began his dance training as a scholarship student at L'Académie de danse Régine Montrosier Trouillot (RMT) in Haiti in 2002, where he studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, and modern dance. He then studied dramatic art and contemporary dance at the Escuela Nacional De Danza (ENDANZA) in the Dominican Republic. George also studied at Études de Ballet & Co. in 2009, where he passed his Royal Academy of Dance Intermediate Exam with Distinction. As a professional dancer, Georges danced with the Compagnie de Dance Jean René Delsoin in Haiti and with Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre (JMBT) in Cambridge, MA. He has danced principal roles in Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Tezen, Starmania, Bouki and Malice, Carmen, Anacaona, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Starmania the musical, Les Sylphides, Sylvia, Alice in Wonderland, Copellia, Paquita, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

During his time at JMBT, George became part of the faculty and trained students in The Youth Development Program. He has worked with various dance schools and companies in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Canada, and the United States including BalletRoto in the Dominican Republic, The Ailey School, Broadway Dance Center, The Joffrey Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance in Chicago. In 2015-16 he became a dance instructor and director of the modern dance program at Études de Ballet in Naples, FL. In fall 2016, he worked as head dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Naples and competed around the East Coast.

In addition to Harvard, Georges teaches at Center Stage Dance studio in Melrose, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, and is a regular guest teacher at the Walnut Hill School, has worked at BalletRox in Jamaica Plain, MA and currently works as a dance instructor at The Tony Williams Dance Center in Jamaica Plain. Jean Robens Georges "Georges" looks forward to continue pursue in his dance career this coming fall season at The Boston Conservatory as a candidate for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance program for September 2021.
