Scholarship Program

The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra was founded on the belief that music should be accessible to all. This mission extends to players who may find themselves in need of financial support in order to cover membership dues. Please note that the CSO is an all-volunteer-run organization and depends on donations, ticket revenue, and membership dues in order to operate. A limited number of scholarships are granted each season to assist those who wish to participate but cannot cover the cost of membership.

If pursuing a scholarship, please carefully consider the above statement before applying. Should a scholarship be awarded, we require recipients to assist the CSO in other ways in-kind. Tasks will be assigned related to rehearsal or concert logistics such as moving equipment or other items; assisting with fundraising efforts such as stuffing envelopes; or contributing toward content creation for marketing purposes. The average time commitment will be about 1 hour per month.

Scholarships cover the cost of dues for one season. One must reapply each season. Information submitted through this form is kept confidential and accessed by the board of directors, music director, and personnel manager only.
